Take care of your mind and your mind will take care of you

My Personal Journey

Hello my name is Bridge. I am passionate about my business and the field of therapy. My goal is to help, heal and make a transformational difference to people’s lives.

I believe my own life has gifted me with some invaluable lessons and whilst some of my experiences and situations were unfortunate, they were not permanent and did not define who I really was and am.

I would describe myself as a person who has followed a gut feeling in developing my own values and morals. Along the way I had adopted unhelpful and negative beliefs about myself, or perhaps others. I learned that these beliefs became ingrained into my mind.  These beliefs held me back from opportunities and at times kept me in a place of insecurity and fear.  That nagging feeling, finally gave me the strength and courage to take steps to deal with these beliefs, insecurities and fears, serving as a crucial turning point for me. Ultimately this guided me into the field of therapy.

For this I am truly grateful to my gut, my resolve and all of my own wonderful teachers and therapists.

A bit more about me

Following childhood and adolescent trauma, married and divorced at a young age, and single parent to my four-month-old son, my personal journey of reading self-help therapy books began at the age of 22. The more I read about human behaviour and the power of the mind the more fascinated I became. It was around this time that prolonged stress whilst holding down a full-time job resulted with me trying to cope with anxiety and depression and behaviour patterns that did not serve me. By the age of 26 my reading and gut told me to seek outside help. It was then WITH the one-to-one help of my brilliant therapist that we worked on resolving my negative beliefs, insecurities and fears. I made huge strides in personal development and experiencing this transformation developed my craving for more knowledge in the field of mental health.

At 30 years of age, I obtained a BSc (Hons) in Health Sciences, which covered many aspects of human physiology and psychology. This fast tracked me into a 16-year career working in a clinical setting including managing patient services in hospitals and managing GP surgeries.

I worked closely with patients and staff, crafting solutions to help provide the best service, environment and performance for all.  I was passionate about caring and helping people. I decided to return to study to gain the appropriate qualifications to practice as an NLP Practitioner and Life Coach, I believed this would enhance my work in the NHS which it did and also allowed me to set up my own practice. I loved working with my clients, using my NLP and coaching skills I helped them realise their core values and beliefs, and moved them to a better place. However, I still felt I could offer more – there was more inside me to give. I was practicing yoga regularly and had many epiphany moments on my mat. I decided to study yoga and became a teacher in 2016. I left my day job in the NHS and trained in hypnotherapy. Soon after Bridge to Freedom was born.  For over a decade now my therapy has helped and healed my clients and I feel humbled and privileged when clients place their mental health in my hands.

A tiny bit more about me

My real name is Tracy Howard Beckley.  However, many years ago much-loved friends of mine including their children decided to give me the nickname Bridget which then became Bridge. I loved this name for all the reasons it was given to me and cherish the happy memories of those wonderful times with good friends and their now grown-up children. I embraced the name and ignored any negative comments from those who didn’t like change. I am now known to everyone simply as “Bridge”!

When forming my business, I incorporated the name into Bridge to Freedom.  A play on words, however poignant as I visualise my clients taking a journey of self-discovery and healing over a bridge culminating in their release to freedom.

My Ethos

I believe in caring and helping people in a way that matches their needs and provides a healthy resolution to the problems or difficulties they carry. I visualise this as taking my clients across a bridge to freedom. I take each step with my client providing support, guidance and commitment, until we reach the other side. My clients step off the bridge feeling better. They leave behind negative beliefs, destructive emotions and psychological blocks and take with them their new found beliefs and freedom.
